Minority Scholarship Luncheon (2026)

The 2026 Walter C. Gaskins Scholarship Luncheon was held at the Thai Esan & Noodle House, 9820 Huebner Road, on June 27, 2026.

The key note speaker for the luncheon was U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) and former SANCSC member, Mr. Cornell Hoskins, who spoke about the importance of faith, family, and community involvement.

The scholarship committee, led by Al Harris, extends its gratitude to all who contributed to the program’s success, enabling SANCSC to give (4) $500 checks to each recipient to assist in the various expenses of transitioning from home to college.

SANCSC's 2026 Scholarship Recipients:

• Mr. Quentin Batts, of Sotomayor High School, will be attending the University of Texas (Chemical Engineering).
• Ms. Alayna Hilliard, of the Texas Military Institute, will be attending Baylor University (Healthcare; Doctor of Medicine).
• Ms. Sydney Primm, of Brandeis High School, will be attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (Biomedical Engineering/Medical School).
• Mr. Ethan Wrightsill, of Antonion College Preparatory High School, will be attending Ohio State University (Nursing).

These intelligent young men and women have made, and will continue to make significant contributions to society. They each excelled academically and possess exceptional leadership potential. We commend their parents and we wish each recipient tremendous success in their future endeavors.
