Christmas Gifts at Ayres House
In partnership with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD), SANCSC members regularly visit Ayres Halfway House residents to mentor them through the M.I.S.T.E.R. program (Mentoring, Inspiring, Supporting, Teaching, and Empowering through Rapport) for residents between the ages of 12-18.
The intent of the program is to let each individual know that they are cared for, to help build their confidence, reach their maximum potential, and to become valued community members upon their release.
During the holiday season, members of SANCSC's mentorship team coordinated with Ayres House leadership to identify some of the wishes and needs of the residents.
SANCSC provided sports equipment, balls, board games, books, art supplies, and various personal hygiene items that were requested and/or needed.
