MLK Event (2024)
On 20 Jan 24, SANCSC hosted its 27th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Banquet at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland's Gateway Club.
The event celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. King. The National MLK Theme for 2024 was "Yesterday’s Dream, Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Reality!" SANCSC’s theme was “It Starts with Me: Shifting the Cultural Climate Through the Study and Practice of Kingian Nonviolence: and Spreading Hope, Courage, and Unity.
The MC for the event was Mr. Alexander Harris. The Invocation was delivered by Mr. Van Johnson. Ms. Robin Butler performed a soulful rendition of the national anthem. The DJ for the event was OMG Sounds.
The guest speaker was Mr. Art Hall, and the MLK committee chairperson for 2024 was Mr. Alexander Harris.
